The Kid's Room

Okay, here's my theme! This is the Kidsline Clover Fields room. It is my inspiration, and I am drawing from it to create a wonderful kids room that will cater to a girl/girl, or a girl/boy. I have the growth chart, the switch plate, and the photo frame on the way. Everything is so expensive! I want the dust ruffle, but the way my crib works, it gets hindered, so I will continue to use the sage green ruffle I already own, as well as the sage green bumper. I also already have butter yellow sheets.... I like the lamp, and may get that later, but at this point, don't need a lamp. It's something that Morgan would just knock over, and there isn't really room for it anyway. I like the border, but am not using the border. I would love the valance though... but would need 4, and they are expensive. I am incorporating the flowers from this:

I have already painted them on the wall above the "fields" that look just like the one in Morgan's other room. I also have rubon dragonfly and butterflies that I am putting amongst the flowers, and I am going to ask Aunt Ardena to paint some sheep on veneer, so that she can do it at her own pace, and I can move them if and when we rearrange the room. Hopefully she's game! Mom is making butter yellow roman shades, and may do some of her famous window box valances... which would be great for knick knacks... but I'm not sure about the window that's behind the top bunk..... so I'm still thinking about it. I guess it would be fine.. I'm already going to have curtains, and as long as they were securely fastened.....

This theme is perfect. Morgan already has a few sheep stuffed animals... look at her ticker!..... I call her lambchop and my little lamb...... and I call the baby Bunny, so this is a great "farm" theme! Perfect! The colors go great with what I've already done! If this little bundle is a girl, I won't even need to do much to make it a more girly space... and if it's a boy, well, I still won't have to! Maybe I'll add frogs to the blankie that I make.

So there. Adorable!

Does Santa live Under the Sea?

Morgan has just found a fascination with her Little Mermaid Golden Book... and earlier she was flipping through the pages, took one look at King Triton, pointed, and said, "Santa Claus". Who knows? Maybe she's right! Who am I to tell her that is wrong? How observent! :)

27 weeks.... and counting!

How your baby's growing: Your baby is really starting to fill up your uterus. This week he weighs almost 2 pounds and is about 14.4 inches long with his legs extended. He can now open and close his eyes, and he sleeps and wakes at regular intervals. He may suck his fingers, and although his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with assistance — if he were to be born prematurely. Chalk up any rhythmic movement you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and isn't bothersome to him, so enjoy the tickle. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. Wonder what he's thinking?

Yes! Since Morgan hasn't been sleeping well, neither has the bab. It's actually quite funny. I'll be holding Morgan standing up, or I'll be laying with her on the couch, and Baby Bunny will start bouncing off the walls! I don't know if it's trying to reassure her with a high five... or give her a swift kick and telling her to go back to bed! She hasn't said anything about it yet, but when we are pressed up against each other... well, she's gotta feel it! It ain't gas! :)

Fun, fun. Will this one be fiesty? Or the mediator? Please, oh, please, let Baby Bunny be the mellow peacemaker. A mini Steve. We need the balance in this house!

Morgan slept through the night last night. I did have to put her to bed and let her cry for 15 minutes, but I actually think she is in the testing stage where she's learning her boundaries, so I am going to stick with it. She even woke up happy this morning, and to help me out, the little Eyeore next door started braying, which delights her to no end, so she was still in a good mood when I came in and asked her if she was "all done nigh night?". Few. I needed the rest. Hopefully this all gets worked out soon. :)

Morgan

Today Morgan and I went to her Well Child appointment. I was dreading it, because she did NOT have a good night last night, and I was not looking forward to a grumpy two year old getting some booster shots.........

While waiting in the waiting room, the place was empty, so I let Morgan climb over a couple of chairs. She wasn't running wild, but I didn't force her to sit with me either. I didn't want to create any extra tantrums.... She'd laugh and climb, then run back to me, then run back to the chair, get up, say "hi mama", wave, and go at it again. I knew our appointment wouldn't be too far away, it was 9am and they can't be running behind ALREADY, so I just sat there watching her.

Anyway, this lady who was sitting futher down the building got up and came over and sat near me. She leaned over and said that she could really see the love I had for my daughter, and that it was heartwarming to see. She said that you could just see by looking at Morgan that she was a happy girl, and that I was cherishing my "gift", as all children are. It really was a sweet thing to say. I don't know this woman at all, and often sometimes question my parenting skills when things aren't running smoothly, but it was very encouraging to have a total stranger come to my side and with no alterior motive, let me know that they think I am doing a great job. All mom's want to hear that! That made my day!

For some reason my girl hasn't been sleeping well lately. I think her dreams are waking her up, but they aren't night terrors. Sometimes we hear her talking about the car, or saying "no way", or just saying "wishuuu mama" (her term for "with you" mama, when she wants to be held). But she's always crying..... So I haven't been sleeping well.

The doctor confirmed he didn't think it was night terrors... just a little phase. I need to make a few adjustments, maybe give her a shorter nap... . until this phase passes. We also talked about potty training and her big girl bed.... and are going to wait until after the baby gets here for the potty training, but are going to get started on the transition out of the crib. Hopefully she's comfortably in her new bed before the baby gets here, because I am certainly going to have my hands full in a few months. Maybe when the baby gets here and she sees a little one getting it's diaper changed, she will decide she's ready to move on. But I am not going to push it.

My girl is still big, I think it was the 95th percent for her weight, 35 pounds, and the 75th for her height. Doc wasn't concerned at all, because she isn't fat, just big, so everything went great.

He did notice what he called a "flow murmur" when he checked her heart. He said it was benign, and not anything to worry about at this point.... but of course, when the word benign is spoken, you automatically think the word malignant..... so I will look into this a little bit. But at this point, I'm not worrying about it.

Anyway, we have a healthy girl..... and apparently, a good mama!

The "Davinie Era"

Egads. Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the "Davinie Era". That's the phrase Steve likes to coin when he refers to our time together. Now, in order to come up with stories that happened with his friends, etc., he has to go 10 years back in order to get behind the "Davinie Era". I can't believe we've been together that long. Look at all we've done! Accomplished! We've now been married almost 5 1/2 years, have a 2 YeAR OLD (Still can't get used to saying that), and have another member of our precious family on the way, in just 13 weeks. What a life. How scary and exciting. We've been having fun. I sure lucked out with a great man. I hope the next decade of the "Davinie Era" is just as exciting as the last.

Morgan's 2nd birthday bash

Hello and Welcome to Entertainment tonight. I'm Mark Steines.

And I'm Mary Hart. Tonight's top story involves the birthday bash of the year for 2 year old Morgan Paige Fiero. Everybody who's anybody was there, and so were our ET Cameras. You can't start a party without talking about the fashions, and for that, noone is better than ET's own Steven Cojucaro.

Thanks Mary. The star of the show, the belle of the ball, had to be Miss Morgan Paige herself. After a last minute change from Nemo to the barnyard, our little lambchop outdid herself with her country fashions. Levi jeans courtesy of her Grammabon, red shirt and socks from Old Navy, and the cutest little piggy tales in the county, she has made a permanent place on my top 10 list! Here's a peek:

OH SO CUTE!

But besides the guest of honor, the NW Nick house had to be a close second! Check out the scene!

Oh, and Mary, did you SEE the gift goodie bag! Homemade feed buckets, filled with Peanut Butter filled Ritz crackers, stickers of horses and cows, a glittery bracelet, a plastic horse, and a party blower! What an amazing treat for all the young guests!

And look at a cloesup of the decor! Morgan's mom went through some of her previously worn denim, and clotheslined it to the curtain rods! Then she attached printouts of barns for more barnyard appeal. What a great idea!

Yes, Steven, you are right. This is looking like the bash of the year!

Now, let's get on with the party. Party time was 3 o'clock. The guests arrived enmasse, and the fun began. If you looked around the house, you would have a hard time believing there could have ever been anything but a barn theme, as Miss Morgan has TONS of farm toys! Barns here, barns, there, wagons here, horses there. And the imitations! My word, that girl could get a job as an entertainer with the "eeee awww's, and the MOOOOO's". And, with the donkey next door, the horses and cows on the property behind NW Nick, a farm HAD to be had.

The kids played with the house, with the barn, with each other, the 30 balloons covering the floor, and eventually, old house plans were rolled out, and several barnyard themed coloring book pages were displayed so that the children could create. It was a blast!

Because Miss Morgan knows what "presents" are, having just experienced Christmas the month prior, and two other birthday celebrations earlier in the week, it soon became difficult to distract her from her "loot". So, we soon gathered for some gifts.

A My Little Pony backpack with wheels and a handle... perfect for long day trips, or even overnight trips somewhere! Perfect. This was from Rylee. She also got some paint with water coloring books. Morgan's mom hadn't found any of those yet, and she' definitely ready for something like that.

From Cheryl, one of Mom's coworkers who she was SHOCKED to have show up, she received a musical Pooh book about manners, and some great gardening supplies! A watering can, shovel, rake, trowel, and even some gardening gloves! Too bad she didn't have these the other day when her dad was raking needles! Morgan is excited about the Pooh book, because it's only been within the last week that she's finally caught on who that is. She has a bowl and a cup with Pooh, and a couple of books, but as the Fiero's don't have the Disney channel, she doesn't have anything else to associate him with. But she now recognizes both Pooh and Piglet, which is very cute!

Eva and Noah, the neighbors from NE Nick, brought Morgan a Barbie dress up dress! What a good idea!

The Hagan's brought her favorite gift. A tent, a camp chair, a sleeping bag, a flashlight and a compass! It all rolls up and fits in one wheeled bag. She can't WAIT to use them this summer when we go camping, in the backyard........

She also got some books, stickers, a Veggie Tales movie, and a pretend vacuum for helping mom. She made out like a bandit! What a fun party for Morgan Paige.

And here's Parker Elizabeth, the new member of the Fiero household. She's our May baby per her birth certificate, so now they have Morgan January 20, Davinie February 26th, Steve March 20, the new baby is scheduled for April 18, and Parker on May 19th. Almost half the year is covered. This elminates one from the dozen, and leaves only 7 more members to add.

Shortly after the gift opening came the cake. With only a few huffs, she blew out that candle like it was nothin', and then the guests ate cupcakes. Carrott. Vanilla frosting. Sprinkles.... To DIE for!

.

Now, some highlights from the rest of the party:

Morgan and Rylee hugging, then later, acting like Diva's in Morgan's room with Kelsey, the Fiero's future babysitter. Check out Morgan's Nemo sheets! The girls would run back into her room, shut the door, and "read books" or whatever girls do when they are hiding behind closed doors. Isn't it a little early to be acting like that?

At one point, balloons were flying all over the place! The kids were having a blast, and the parents hovered at the edges, ready to deflect any facial blows or to soothe a booboo from a wild hand. Luckily, there was only minimal damage to the guests, and the guest of honor.

.

.

Rylee likes to hold Morgan's hand....... And.......... you can't tell because she was squirming, and yes, Davinie's eyes are closed, but this pic was to show that Rae and her Aunt Davinie were wearing matching sweaters. They both had a little tie under the "boobies".

After most of the guests left, the remaining kids dove into the goodie buckets. Rylee and Krysta grabbed their party blowers like they'd tooted a million times, but for some reason, Miss Morgan Paige couldn't seem to figure hers out. Her parent's tried imitation, telling her it was a straw, but to no avail. She persisted to hold her blower an inch or two from her mouth, and blew little puffs of air, in an effort to make it work. While adorable, it wasn't functional.

Morgan and her amigos, post funk. She really did have a fun day!

Well, that's it for us at Entertainment Tonight. I'm Mary Hart. See you tomorrow!

26 weeks

How your baby's growing: Your baby now weighs a little under 2 pounds and measures about 14 inches, from head to heel. The nerve pathways in her ears are developing, which means her response to sounds is growing more consistent. Her lungs are developing now, too, as she continues to take small breaths of amniotic fluid — good practice for when she's born and takes that first breath of air. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

By six months, you should have started to feel your baby moving. She's still long and lean but will soon start to put on some baby fat. Her facial features — lips, eyebrows, eyelids — are more distinct and her teeth are starting to develop under her gums.

Boy???? Or girl????? Who is little Baby bunny? -------- or -----------?

Birthday EVE of Number 2!

As daddy is on shift tomorrow, and Grandma and Grandpa Fiero are going to Vegas in the morning, we celebrated Morgan's 2nd birthday today. Check out what she got!

A big girl bike from Grandma and Grandpa. We need to get her downstairs in the basement, and she'll have this thing moving! She already has it figured out!

From Aunt Alyca and Uncle Ethan, the COOLEST stuffed animals EVER. The theme to the back room has officially changed from bears and moose to FARM ANIMALS in the fields. These little guys are soft, soft, soft, and they are round, so are PeRFECT for toddlers to toss around. Plus, they make a nice decoration to any kids bed! In fact, Morgan asked for them when she went to bed, so they are all lining the end of her crib by her feet. So cool. And Alyca was worried we wouldn't like them! LOVE THEM!

Grammabon sent a cool pink backpack filled with clothes, her signature Jelly Belly's (it's been so LOnG since we've seen those!), big girl PANTIES in an Ariel theme (must start potty training!) and the coolest pair of Levi's ever. I didn't know they made them this small. They are adorable and I can't wait until they fit! So cute!

She got some cute clothes from her Great Aunt Kathy in Wyomoing. Very cute.

Lastly, mom and dad got her a cabbage patch kid, but I didn't get a chance to take her picture..... Morgan immediately undressed her, and started checking her out. She's so cute! Those cabbage patch kids come with cute little bums, toes and fingers, and an outie belly button! Morgan, of course, pointed out her boobies. She's into boobies lately, and thinks they are the greatest thing ever. Silly kid. Anyway, her CPK is named Parker Elizabeth, and has long blondish/brown hair and has violet eyes. She's very cute. I'll post a pic of her later. Anyway, Morgan's in love, and dragged her to bed with her too.

When it came time for cake, she did AWESOME! She blew out her candle before we got through with the song! I got a lemon poppyseed cake because she's going to be busy the rest of the weekend, so I didn't want to get her a traditional cake.

Tomorrow, for her actual birthday, we are meeting Marci and Krysta in Bend and going out for icecream..... sugar free yogurt, probably.... then I need to pick up some last minute party supplies. Then, on Saturday at 3, is her "birthday party" with a bazillion kids. It should be fun! She's having a birthday extravaganza, and is too young to understand how spoiled she is! 3 birthday celebrations! Lucky kid!

Monthly checkup

Baby's heart rate: 153 and strong. We couldn't tell what direction the little booger is. Bummer. I wanted to know if I'm being kicked..... or punched!

I gained another 5 pounds. Total gained: 21 pounds. Not too bad.

I have to go in for my glucose tolerance test to check for gestational diabetes in two weeks. My next appointment is in 4 weeks, and then we start moving to two week visits! We are getting there!

We also scheduled the Cesarean. Unless I go into labor early, or there are other complications, Baby Bunny will be joining us on April 18.

:)

Morgan went with me to check the mail the other day. As we were leaving the house, she said "EYES!" which is what she says when the sun gets in her eyes. So, we HAD to get her sunglasses, and of course, she already had her fancy hat on... and our little diva walked to the mail box and back dressed like she owned the place. So CUTE!

Mommy and our little movie star.

The downside to having big Ponderosa's on your property? Needle cleanup. The upside? If you are too little to rake, you get to ride in the cart!

A little washed out, but for some reason, my daughter WANTED to smile at the camera. It was a good thing I was sitting down! Shocker!

Title of layout: T.G.I'm Washable. Isn't that cute? Which two of these pics do you like best? I am considering using these pics in a layout for, yes, another contest I'm going to enter. I think I got some good clear close shots. To be fair to the girl, she wasn't purposely drawing on her face. She had all the lids off her pens and was trying to hold all of them at the same time, and was using her chin as a third arm. Silly. Very cute!

Sabrina got Steve a camelback thing for Christmas, and he went hunting the other day and wanted to take it with him. Coincidentally, he won one just the other day at work for some health thing he's participating in, so was playing with both of them before he left. Well, he left one at home, obviously, and Morgan loved the "backpack" and made me strap it on. She then got completely fascinated by the hose, so I had to fill it with lemonade and she traipsed around the house with this bag on her back for a good hour. It was funny!
