Their new ride

So it was the 4th of July and Marci said that next year Krysta was going to drive her Barbie car in the parade... I said, "Well, we probably won't be walking with you then... Morgan doesn't have a Barbie car." I would never have bought her one. I'd rather she run around the yard. And if we were going to get motorized transport... well, we'll just get her a 4 wheeler when she's bigger.
I kid you not.... the next time Steve was on shift he called to say that one of his coworkers called and asked if we'd like a Barbie car. Apparently Kendall has outgrown her Barbie car, and she's an only child. HECK Ya we'd like it! And here she is. Morgan rode with Krysta in her car on the 4th, and it is MUCH faster than I thought they'd be, and she is a little daredevil... so my sweet girl is a bit scared of her Barbie car. But she has taken it for small treks and likes to climb in it, so that's a start. PJ likes it too... and if her legs were a little bit longer, I'm sure we'd see her toodling around the yard. It won't be long!
Morgan would like to type now:

New layouts

I thought I'd post some of my recent layouts..... some of the pictures are older though. That makes it more fun!

This last one, Beluga, is my recent layout for the Scrapbook Lifestyle Stylin' Idol contest... the challenge was to use GREEN. I didn't do anything to the photos... they were taken in an underground exhibit at the Port Defiance Zoo. I thought they were perfect for this challenge!
I was also in a challenge at another site using a specific style. My style was Urban Chic, which is the use of black and white cardstock, doodling, bling... I made it through to the next round with this layout:

That's it for now!

Scrapbook Lifestyle Challenge #3 - Ribbon

Okay... I made it through to the next round in the Stylin' Idol challenge put on by Scrapbook Lifestyle. This week, the challenge was all about ribbon.

The rules:
1. You must have at least 1 (one) FOOT of ribbon on your page. It can be an arrange of different ribbons, styles, shapes, colors. You just need to make it obvious that ribbon is what this challenge is about!
2. You can NOT tie the ribbon on to anything OR in a bow. (it can NOT resemble a bow at all). The ribbon can NOT be on your layout in a straight line.

For my layout, I ribbon wrapped some hand-cut chipboard for my flower stems. I then wrapped some circles for my flower centers, and used some ribbon for "grass".

You can view all the entries for this week here.

You can then vote for your favorite here.

Photos of the 4th

Some photos from the 4th, straight from the camera. We went to the Pet Parade, to Sunriver for the Fireman's picnic, and to a BBQ. We left the house at 9am and didn't get home until almost midnight. It was a long, hot day, the girls did AWESOME, and we had a lot of fun. Morgan fell asleep in the car on the way home from Sunriver so we went to Jon and Kathy's where she slept for another hour on their spare bed.... a move that probably made the rest of our day happen. And sweet Payton, who usually gets 5+ hours of naps throughout her day, only slept for about 1/2 hour in the car. That's it. She was happy all day until she fell asleep while we were watching fireworks after 10pm. And she barely woke to get dressed for bed once we got home. It was a blast. Marci taught her how to show her belly, so she spent the better part of the afternoon flashing everyone, but it was super cute. Morgan had a blast jumping in the bouncy house, and made a friend with Maddie, the 7 year old daughter of a friend of ours, and wanted to play with "her friend" all day, which was great. She avoided the camera so I mostly caught photos of Miss PJ. I still took 280 shots! I tried getting a group shot of all the girls at the parade, but it was already hot, we weren't in the shade, we were standing on the blacktop... and the kids were ready to get going, so I took what I could take. Plus, several are very young, and had no idea what they should be doing.
All in all a great day! I feel a bit hungover though, and I didn't even consume! I drank a ton of water yesterday but I think I am still dehydrated. And I'm pooped! But it was all worth it.
